Prime Numbers and Eden Years: God’s Calendar for Humankind?

Introduction
What if a simple pattern predicted the dates of the following prophetic Biblical events?…
- The Flood of Noah
- The averted sacrifice of Isaac by Abraham
- The prophetic famine that brought Jacob into Egypt
- The Exodus of Israel from Egypt
- Rebuilding of Jerusalem’s second wall
- The Sacrifice of Messiah Jesus from Nazareth
- The rebirth of the modern State of Israel in 1948 AD
- The beginning of the Great Tribulation
- The One Thousand Year Messianic Millennial Kingdom
…And what if the formula for that pattern is contained within the Bible itself – in the book of Genesis?
Would you be motivated to dust off your Bible and read it cover-to-cover? I hope so.
The Bible is, after all, God’s personal message to his most beloved creation: each and every person who has ever existed on planet Earth. The Bible describes why and how God provided the way for all record of our sins to be erased. And best of all, God’s way is free; there are no strings attached. With our sins erased, we can have unparalleled peace knowing that someday soon we can live in his presence.
Would God use a calendar?
In Matthew 24:36, Jesus told his followers that no angel, no man, and not even Jesus himself, knows the day or the hour of the Day of The Lord (The Final Judgement), only the Father knows. That’s a pretty clear line drawn in the sand and it should preclude anyone from spending their life trying to determine an exact future date for the Second Judgement.
On the other hand, in the verses leading up to verse 36, Jesus clearly indicates that we can know that day is very near when we see precursor world events occurring.
Similarly, Jesus held the leaders of the Temple in Jerusalem responsible for knowing when to expect arrival of their Savior (Jesus). They should have been able to figure it out because the writings of the Prophets gave plenty of data and clues.
Also, Amos 3:7 says that God does nothing without first revealing His secrets to His prophets. Critical knowledge was written down by the prophets for future generations. What they wrote down became the Bible we have today.
Given all that, we shouldn’t be surprised to find clues to God’s calendar for humankind in the Bible. The following first of eight postulates (i.e. presupposition, assumption) underlies everything in this article:
Postulate #1 | God, in His sovereignty, has a pre-determined schedule for all Biblical events and He left clues to it throughout the Bible. |
Eden Years
In the book of Genesis, we are told that every aspect of God’s Creation was originally made perfect for its purpose. The Garden of Eden was perfectly designed, as well as everything external to the Garden. That includes our solar system and all that is far beyond it.
Genesis 1:14 clearly states that the Moon, Sun, and stars were designed to serve the job of timekeeping. By simply looking up at night, Adam and Eve could know the month of year, the time of the month, and the what season they were currently in.
Something that is rarely asked, but sheds much light when we ask it: How good was God’s job of setting the Earth and heavenly bodies in motion? In other words, were Adam and Eve ever confused about which day of the month, or which month of the year it was? Did they ever have to keep track of leap years?
Of course not, God’s timekeeping system was perfectly designed for its purpose. In my opinion, it’s quite insulting to God to think otherwise.
Surely then, God’s gift of timekeeping in the sky required none of the corrections that we need today. All He would have had to do is create an exact 360 day-long year, and an exact 30 day lunar orbital period. [See Appendix B]
This article assumes that God gave Adam and Eve that gift:
Postulate #2 | During Creation Week, God caused the Earth to orbit the Sun in exactly 360 days. |
This article gives the name “Eden Year” to that 360 day-long year in order to differentiate it from the 365¼ day-long Gregorian year we know today.
Noah’s Flood
After Adam and Eve sinned and were removed from the Garden of Eden, they had children. Because sin had become part of Adam’s nature, the propensity to sin was passed on to all of his descendants.
Now fast-forward by several generations, and Genesis chapter 6 tells us that humankind had become intensely wicked. Furthermore, it tells us that evil angels had taken human women and produced hybrid offspring with them. Man’s sin and this genetic corruption of humankind was so offensive to Him that He sent the First World-wide Judgement. The Flood destroyed all air-breathing life except for Noah’s immediate family and the animals aboard Noah’s massive boat.
It may come as a surprise to some to learn that the Bible contains enough information to determine the exact year in which The Flood began. It occurred in the 1656th year after Creation [See Appendix A].
The thing is, why is the year of Noah’s Flood in the Bible? Was it placed there just to make for interesting reading?
Since we believe that every word placed in the Bible is inspired by God, we can be confident that it is there for a purpose. It likely is a remez, or “hint with a deeper meaning”, as Bible teacher Dr. Chuck Missler [7] enjoyed discussing when he found them?
If so, it may lead us to a pattern hidden throughout the Bible. Quite possibly a pattern related to God’s overall redemption and judgement plan for humankind due to the fact that Eden Year 1656 concerns the first world-wide judgement.
First Connection
Interestingly, the year of Noah’s Flood and the length of an Eden Year are connected by a very simple mathematical relationship. Both are the product of ‘72’ and a prime number:
360 = 72 × 5
1656 = 72 × 23
Yes, it’s a nerdy point to make but it leads to an amazing Biblical pattern, as shown later.
As an aside, prime numbers[See Appendix C] are employed in modern cryptography to keep secrets hidden. Would God use prime numbers to hide a pattern in the Bible?
To explore this pattern further, I placed the first twenty-five prime numbers and their corresponding Eden Years in Table 1. Note that Eden Year 144, found in the first row, is the 144th year Anno Mundi (AM), which means “Year After Creation”.
Prime Number | Eden Year | Biblical Significance |
---|---|---|
2 | 144 AM | |
3 | 216 AM | |
5 | 360 AM | |
7 | 504 AM | |
11 | 792 AM | |
13 | 936 AM | |
17 | 1224 AM | |
19 | 1368 AM | |
23 | 1656 AM | The Flood began |
29 | 2088 AM | |
31 | 2232 AM | |
37 | 2664 AM | |
41 | 2952 AM | |
43 | 3096 AM | |
47 | 3384 AM | |
53 | 3816 AM | |
59 | 4248 AM | |
61 | 4392 AM | |
67 | 4824 AM | |
71 | 5112 AM | |
73 | 5256 AM | |
79 | 5688 AM | |
83 | 5976 AM | |
89 | 6408 AM | |
97 | 6984 AM |
The Eden Year column contains the first ten prime numbers multiplied by ‘72’. Eventually, more rows will be added to this table. More Biblical connections will be added as well.
Count the Days
Next, a reasonable assumption is made:
Postulate #3 | The length of a day (24 hours) has not changed by any appreciable amount since Creation. |
If God’s pre-determined schedule of Biblical events included The Flood, and years were each exactly 360 days long at Creation, then it’s reasonable to conclude that His schedule was based on that exact interval of time: 360 days.
If the length of the year changed to something other than 360 days, would God’s schedule change with it? Not likely. The reason being, basing a schedule on an interval of time is consistent and predictable. Conversely, an interval based on relative position of the Earth and the Sun is potentially subject to the gravitational influence of other celestial bodies that may intrude in our solar system.
That leads to the next assumption:
Postulate #4: | God’s calendar of Biblical events was established with 360 day intervals of time (Eden Years) so by extension it will always be based on 360 day intervals. |
Stretching Year
Given everything discussed up to this point, a glaring fact must be addressed: The length of a year we experience today is not 360 days long.
Before going further however, we first need to define the word ‘year‘ in order to avoid confusion.
This article always employs the term year to mean a sidereal year, unless otherwise noted. A sidereal year defines the span of time where the Earth, in its elliptical orbit around the Sun, returns to the same orbital location as determined by stellar observations. As you may have guessed by now, this article does not assume that a sidereal year has always been 365¼ days long.
Now then, these questions arise regarding stretching of a year:
- How is it possible to produce a 5¼ day increase?
- When did sidereal year stretching begin?
- When did the stretching end?
- How fast or slow did the stretching occur?
The first question is straight-forward to answer: By moving the Earth into a slightly larger diameter orbit around the Sun , a slightly longer year would result.
Explaining what could cause that, however, is not so easy. The Earth has enormous mass, so this would require a tremendously large transfer of kinetic energy to the Earth.
Perhaps a passing black hole could it but, proof of that is outside the scope of this article. I’d enjoy discussing this topic with you, if you have experience in computer simulation of multi-bodied physics.
If the Earth experienced unusual gravitational pull from something like a black hole, possibly over a time period of a few hundred years, the intruding celestial body might have also dragged debris into Earth’s path. Debris may have torn apart Earth’s atmosphere, impacted its tectonic plates, and caused unimaginable calamity; calamity similar to Noah’s Flood. It seems reasonable that The Flood and changing of Earth’s orbit could have been related:
Postulate #5 | Whatever process God used to kick start The Flood also caused Earth’s year to lengthen to 365¼ days. |
So, when did this stretching end? One hundred years after The Flood? One thousand years afterwards? As it turns out, knowing that exact date is unnecessary, as will be seen later. For now, the following assumption is made in order to simplify calculations:
Postulate #6 | By the time Eden Year 2088 rolled around, the length of a sidereal year had finished stretching to 365.25636 days [4]. |
What did the stretching look like between Eden Years 1656 and 2088? Did it start off stretching quickly and then slowed down as time when on? Probably, but just as before, its a very difficult question to answer. Computer modeling of our solar system would be required.
For simplicity’s sake, it is assumed that a small, uniform amount of time (17.52 minutes in this case) was added each year, during that span of Eden Years. In other words, a linear change:
Postulate #7 | Between Eden Years 1656 and 2088, the length of each year increased linearly. |
As an aside, could today’s 365¼ day long year be considered a corruption of the perfect 360-day long Eden Year, similar to how sin has corrupted everything else in Creation?
After the Stretch
One last assumption will be made before moving on:
Postulate #8 | The present-day Jewish calendar[10] is fast by four years, relative to Creation week. In other words, instead of Jewish calendar year 5779 Anno Mundi (AM) corresponding to Gregorian year 2019 AD, it should be 5775 AM. |
That four-year correction will be discussed later.
Table 2, below, is an expanded version of Table 1. Several more rows and four columns have been added.
The column titled “Day After Creation” is filled in with the day number corresponding to the first day of each given Eden Year. The first day of Creation Week would be day ‘1’, and so on. Eden Years are, by definition, always exactly 360 days long, so this is a simple calculation.
Assumptions #5, #6, and #7 are used to fill column “Days per Sidereal Year”. The column starts off with 360 day-long Eden Years. Then, at start of The Flood, sidereal years linearly grow longer. By the time Eden Year 2088 arrives, sidereal years have stopped stretching. From then on out until today, sidereal years are about 365¼ days long.
Filling in the “Sidereal Year” column is a bit more complicated. Each value is calculated from the previous two columns and the sidereal year value before it [See Appendix D].
Finally, in the “Gregorian Year” column, the number ‘3656’ is subtracted from each Sidereal Year value. This is a result of the 3756 sidereal year offset between the Gregorian and Jewish calendars, according to Assumption #8.
5775 AM – 2019 AD = 3756
With these columns filled out, it is absolutely amazing to see what is in the row of Eden Year 3816: Gregorian year 32 AD!
That’s the year most commonly associated with Jesus of Nazareth’s foal-back ride into Jerusalem, his crucifixion, his resurrection, and his ascension into Heaven. Jesus revealed himself to Israel as King in that year but Israel rejected him. That Bible history will be important later when we look at Daniel.
This article was written in 2019 AD. According to Table 2, the next future event may occur in Gregorian year 2161 AD. Could that possibly be the starting year of the Second Worldwide Judgement (i.e. The Great Tribulation)? As it turns out, there is a Bible verse that seems to support it as we will see next.

Interval of Fourteen
There is something Biblically special about the row spacing for Eden Years 1656 and 5976: They are fourteen rows apart from each other.
This is significant because the book of Matthew contains a verse which clearly attributes significance to events that are spaced on intervals of fourteen:
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations.
Matthew 1:17, NKJV
Take note that Matthew’s intervals are generations and not years. The beginning and end of generations are events, and not uniform intervals of time.
If Table 2 does indeed contain rows which correspond to prophetic events, then two rows spaced by fourteen rows may have related significance. In this case, both rows may be World-wide Judgements.
The Apostle Matthew was inspired by the Holy Spirit while writing his account of the life and ministry of Jesus, so we know that Matthew included this detail for a reason. Could a connection to God’s prophetic calendar be the reason? Time will tell.
The Millennium Kingdom
It turns out that a structure found in Table 2 sitting after Eden Year 5976 bolsters the possibility that Eden Year 5976 may, in fact, correspond to the start of the Second Worldwide Judgement.
Revelation 20:1-6 tells us that Satan will be tied up and thrown into the Abyss at the end of the seven year Great Tribulation judgement. It also tells us that at that point, Jesus will begin his one-thousand year reign on Earth as King. I, for one, can’t wait.
So now, if the Second Judgment starts on Eden Year 5976, then we should expect to find a span of at least 1007 years following Eden Year 5976 in Table 2. Those years would correspond to the following:
- Seven years for the Great Tribulation
- One-thousand years for the Messianic Millennial Kingdom
Amazingly, subtracting Eden Year 5976 from Eden Year 6984 (see Table 2) gives 1008 Eden Years! Could that 1008 Eden Years be made up of seven Tribulation years, followed by a year of cleanup and/or fallen angel judgement on Earth, and then one thousand years of Jesus’ world-wide Kingdom of Peace?
And what about Eden Year 6408? Is something of Biblical significance expected to happen about 432 years into the Millennium? Let me know what you think.
Gabriel’s Prediction
Amazingly, several other Bible verses mention very specific (and prophetic) blocks of time which fit into Table 2.
In the book of Daniel, the angel Gabriel gives a prophetic message [See Appendix E] regarding “seventy weeks” of time for Israel. I, like most Bible students, understand those weeks in Daniel to be weeks (sevens) of years.
Gabriel then split the seventy week span into two parts:
- A sixty-nine week portion
- A one week portion
The sixty-nine week portion was the most important for Israel: it predicted exactly when the Messiah would appear.
But then Gabriel did something that has always seemed a very unexpected to me, he further split that sixty-nine week block into two more parts:
- A 49 year (seven weeks of years) block
- A 434 year (sixty-two weeks of years) block.
According to Gabriel, Israel’s Messiah would reveal himself at the end of that 434 year block of time.
From Table 2, Eden Year 3816 corresponds to the year that Jesus presented himself in Jerusalem as King. Subtracting Eden Year 3384 (one row earlier in the table) from Eden Year 3816 gives 432 Eden Years.
That 432 Eden Year span of time correlates extremely well to Gabriel’s prophetic 434 year block of time! Perhaps the two-year difference relates to the beginning of Jesus’ public ministry?
Israel in Egypt
Biblical significance can also be found for Eden Year 2232 and Eden Year 2664, which are rows found in Table 2.
Eden Year 2232 appears[See Appendix F] to correspond to the year that God gave Pharaoh his prophetic dream and Eden Year 2664 corresponds to when the nation of Israel made their miraculous and prophesized (Genesis 15:13-14) exodus from Egypt.
When the first year of plentiful harvest began, it kicked off a chain of events that ultimately caused Jacob and his sons to move to Egypt. A little over four hundred years later the nation of Israel would leave Egypt.
To see this, note that the book of Exodus records a very specific block of time:
And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years—on that very same day—it came to pass that all the armies of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.
Exodus 12:41, NKJV
That span of 430 sidereal years is conspicuously similar to the 432 Eden Years which separate Eden Years 2232 and 2664.
2664 – 2232 = 432
From the book of Genesis, we can deduce [See Appendix F] that Joseph was sold to Potiphar in Egypt in about 2223 AM. This event marked the beginning of movement of Jacob and all of his sons into Egypt. Then, 430 years later, in about 2653 AM the nation of Israel would have made its exodus from Egypt.
Table 2 shows that Eden Year 2664 corresponds to sidereal year 2653 AM. This astounded me when I first saw it.
Also, from the book of Genesis, we can determine [See Appendix F] that the first year of Pharaoh’s prophetic dream playing out (first of seven years of plentiful crops) was in 2228 AM. According to Table 2, Eden Year 2232 corresponds to sidereal year 2227 AM.
With the advent of Pharaoh’s prophetic dream playing out set into motion which would bring Jacob and his sons to live in Egypt.
Again, it’s amazing that these dates come out so close.
Foreshadow of Messiah’s Sacrifice
Eden Year 2088 appears to correspond to a Biblically significant event: Abraham’s averted sacrifice of Isaac.
Genesis 22:2 tells us that God tested Abraham’s faith by asking him to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. Abraham obeyed God and took Isaac to up to the mountain of Moriah (the present day Temple-mount area in Jerusalem) with intent to sacrifice him.
Many Bible teachers believe that this was a foreshadowing of Jesus of Nazareth’s crucifixion. With that in mind, what if Isaac was the same age as Jesus when He was crucified?
Jesus started his public ministry at about the age of thirty (Luke 3:23) and his ministry lasted about three years. Therefore He was about 33 years old when he was crucified.
Genesis chapters 11 through 21 reveal that Isaac was born to Abraham in the year 2048 AM [See Appendix A]. If Isaac was also 33 years old when Abraham brought him to Mount Moriah, we can conclude it happened in sidereal year 2081 AM (2048 AM + 33 years).
2081 AM is surprisingly close to 2085 AM. Perhaps Isaac was a just few years older than 33 when Abraham brought him up Mount Moriah?

What about ‘72’?
As seen early on in this article, the number ’72’ is key to generating the Eden Year values found in the previous tables. A good question to ask now is: Does the number ’72’ have any Biblical significance on its own?
It turns out there are several [5] significant occurrences of ’72’ in the Bible. Not all of them are obvious[5]:
- Moses appointed 72 elders over Israel [Numbers 11]
- Jesus sent out 72 who returned victorious over Satan [Luke 10]
- Jonah was in the belly of the whale for 72 hours (three 24-hour days) [Jonah 1:17]
- Jesus was in the tomb for 72 hours (three 24-hour days)
These examples seem to solidify that the number ‘72’ isn’t a random number which happens to connect these prophetic Biblical events together.
Between the Rows
There is also at least one Biblically significant event sitting between the rows of Table 3. It is found by starting at Eden Year 5688 and jumping forward by seventy-two Eden Years.
Counting out the days makes it easy:
- Seventy-two Eden Years is equal to 360 × 72 = 25920 days
- Seventy-one Gregorian years is equal to 365.256 × 71 = 25933 days
- 25933 days – 25920 days = 13 days
Therefore, for the time period long after The Flood, 71 Gregorian years has almost exactly the same number of days as 72 Eden Years (to within 13 days, anyway).
Now, Eden Year 5688 corresponds to Gregorian year 1877 AD so all that remains is to add 71 Gregorian years to the year 1877 AD.
This results in the year 1948 AD: The year that the modern-day State of Israel came into existence! Is this a mere coincidence, or a hint of something more?
Concluding Remarks
If you look forward to experiencing Jesus’ Kingdom as much as I do, then one of your reactions to this article probably is: “Its a bit disappointing to see that the year 2161 AD, the year that may see the start of the Great Tribulation, is a long way off.” I understand, that’s my reaction as well.
Don’t be disappointed, but instead believe God’s Word and remember that the rapture of Jesus’ Church (our blessed hope) can happen at any moment.
Until then, we have the most important job to do: Share the wonderful news that God’s son, Jesus, has paid the price for our sins, so we don’t have to. Because of that, we can look forward to living in His Kingdom after we pass on from this life.
My hope is that by reading this article, the reader is moved to thoughtfully consider their eternal future, read their Bible, get to know the loving and just nature of God (Yahweh), and learn how He provided a way for you be with Him forever in Heaven.
One last thing, I believe that the Bible is the Word of God and was without error when it was originally penned. Because of that, each and every word in the Bible is placed there for a purpose and must be relevant for our lives; the Bible contains no fluff. All conclusions within this article are founded on that.

Appendix A: From Adam to Noah
Prior to describing The Flood event, Genesis lists the entirety of Noah’s lineage starting with the first human, Adam. The list contains each man’s name, age at which he had a son, and the age at which the man died:
And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot [a son] in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters. So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
Seth lived one hundred and five years, and begot Enosh. After he begot Enosh, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.
Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Cainan. After he begot Cainan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.
Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel. After he begot Mahalalel, Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.
Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared. After he begot Jared, Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.
Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch. After he begot Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.
Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he [was] not, for God took him.
Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech. After he begot Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.
Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son. And he called his name Noah, saying, “This [one] will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed.”
Genesis 5:3-29, NKJV
According to Genesis, God created Adam during the first week of year ‘1’. Placing ages found in Genesis 5:4-29 and Genesis 7:6 into a table allows them to be added up. This calculation has been done before [7] but is repeated here in Table A.

Appendix B: Timekeeping in the sky
Genesis chapter 1:1-27 follows a pattern wherein a creative act of God is first described and then followed by the phrase “God saw that it was טוֹב.”, where the Hebrew adjective טוֹב (pronounced tōve) is translated as ‘good’ or ‘excellent’. This means that God created an object or a system of objects, set them in motion, and then declared them to be in perfect working order.
Earth was designed by God to provide the perfect environment to support all the life He created. On it, God set aside a specific plot of land, the Garden of Eden, for Adam and Eve to live in.
The Bible tells us that weeds did not compete with food-bearing plants and trees for soil and sunshine. Adam and Eve lived in comfort and peace; having to put very little effort into finding and cultivating food. The Garden was perfect for its purpose.
And God had a plan to provide a way for inhabitants of the Garden to determine passage of the seasons:
Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;”
Genesis 1:14, NKJV
This verse clearly refers to the Sun, the Moon, and the constellations of stars.
Now, if God made it so the orbital path of the Moon around the Earth took exactly thirty days and the length of time the Earth took to orbit around the Sun was exactly 360 days, the two cycles would be in perfect synchronization to the twelve constellations since:
360 ÷ 30 = 12
Observing which constellation contained the full Moon told the viewer which month was currently underway. With this simple relationship, the lunar and solar orbital cycles would allow accurate prediction of the seasons, days, and years.
Appendix C: Prime Numbers
Prime numbers are whole numbers greater than ‘1’ that have no integer factors other than the prime number itself, and the number ‘1’.
For example, the number ‘7’ is prime because it cannot be factored into anything other than ‘1’ and ‘7’.
The number ‘6’, however, is not prime because it has factors ‘2’ and ‘3’ in addition to ‘1’ and ‘6’:
2 × 3 = 6
1 × 6 = 6
While defining prime numbers is easy, determining which numbers are primes can be very difficult. This is especially true of large numbers. That’s because there is no known closed-form equation which predicts where prime numbers sit on the number line.
In other words, explicit testing for primality can only be done by iteration. For large numbers these algorithms require a large amount of calculations. The science of cryptography leverages this phenomenon and makes extensive use of massively large prime numbers to encrypt bank transactions, online shopping, etc.
Appendix D: Sidereal Year calculations
The cells in the Sidereal Year column of Table 2 are the result of a piece-wise (discrete step) numerical integration.
Each sidereal year is calculated from the number days that had passed between rows, the number of days per year in the row, and the previous row’s calculated sidereal year.
This is best explained by example. The following table is a few rows extracted from Table 2:
Prime Number | Eden Year | Day | Days Per Year | Sidereal Year |
---|---|---|---|---|
23 | 1656 AM | 596160 AM | 360 | 1656 AM |
29 | 2088 AM | 751680 AM | 362.6282 | 2085 AM |
31 | 2232 AM | 803520 AM | 365.25636 | 2227 AM |
In prime number 29’s row, the Sidereal Year 2085 is calculated as follows:
((751680 – 596160) ÷ 362.6282) + 1656 = 2085
Similarly, the row of prime number 31 is calculated as follows:
((803520 – 751680) ÷ 365.25636) + 2085 = 2227
All of the rows in Table 2 are calculated in exactly the same way. When I ran these calculations prior to writing this article, I used a computer spreadsheet program which kept track of number accuracy to over six decimal places. Rounding to the nearest whole year was only done when the spreadsheet values were copied to this article’s table.
Appendix E: Prophecy of Weeks in Daniel
In the Bible, the book of Daniel contains a pivotal prophecy predicting that the nation of Israel’s long-awaited Messiah would appear to them a very specific number of years after they returned to Jerusalem from Babylon. Israel was living as captives in Babylon (in present day Iraq) under the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, and his son. Nebuchadnezzar had destroyed Jerusalem’s walls and carried off most of the people, including Daniel. While in Babylon, an angel named Gabriel gave Daniel this prophecy:
Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times.
And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, and till the end of the war desolations are determined.
Daniel 9:24-29, NKJV
The Hebrew word translated into English as week simply means a group of seven. It’s similar to how the word dozen in the English language implies a quantity of twelve.
From the context, it is clear that the weeks in these verses refer to periods of time. Naturally, we now need to know how big they are: days, months, or years. Days and months are highly unlikely given the context of the passage: people building city streets and the protective wall around the city of Jerusalem using the technology available two thousand years ago. Construction of city infrastructure would have certainly required years of time.
Gabriel’s prophesy is concise and fairly easy to understand but its format has always stood out to me. Gabriel split the Seventy Weeks period of time mentioned in verse 24 into two very specific portions:
- A seven week block
- A sixty-two week block
Why did Gabriel do that? The Nation of Israel desired more than anything else for their political and military Messiah to appear and rule in Jerusalem as king. God gave Israel a wonderful gift through this prophecy: they could now countdown the years until Messiah. It’s there for a purpose though, and Gabriel wanted Daniel (and by extension, all readers of the Bible) to know that the prophecy included a 62 × 7 = 434 year-long period of time.
Appendix F: From Adam to Famine
Genesis 11:10 tells us that Arphaxad, the son of Shem, was born one year after the end of the Flood. Since The Flood lasted about one year, it ended in 1657 AM. Therefore, Arphaxad was born in 1658 AM.
Genesis chapter 11 then generously gives enough information to calculate all the way out to the year Isaac was born. This is all listed in Table F, below.

At age of 130, Jacob meets Pharaoh | Genesis 47:9 | 2238 AM |
From Genesis 37:1-34 we learn that Jacob’s son, Joseph, was sold by his brothers into slavery. He was then taken to Egypt by force. In spite of that hardship, Joseph continued to honor and love God, and as a result, Joseph was privileged to play a major role in the history of the nation of Israel.
While in prison on a trumped-up charge, God gave Joseph the ability to correctly interpret a prophetic dream that God gave to the Pharaoh of Egypt. Pharaoh was so impressed with Joseph that he made him his second in command over the entire land of Egypt.
In his new position, Joseph prepared Egypt for the coming seven years of terrible famine by organizing the storage of huge quantities of grain.
When the famine came, it was so widespread that it also affected the land of Canaan to the north, which is where Joseph’s father Jacob and all his brother’s families were living.
Genesis 45:11 tells us that three years into the seven years of famine, Jacob’s sons travelled to Egypt in hopes of buying grain from Pharaoh. Arguably, that is the same year that Jacob met Pharaoh: 2238 AM (see Table F). Therefore, the famine started in 2235 AM (2238 AM minus 3 years) and the seven years of plentiful crops started in 2228 AM (2235 AM minus 7 years).
Genesis 41:1 tells us that Joseph, while in prison, interpreted the dreams of Pharaoh’s chief baker and chief wine tester two years before Pharaoh had his own dream. So, those dreams were interpreted in 2226 AM (2228 AM minus 2 years).
Also, the Bible tells us that Joseph was put in charge of the entire prison prior to that. How long did it take for the prison chief to learn to trust Joseph before placing him in charge? The Bible doesn’t say. Perhaps it took a year? If so, that means that Joseph was put in prison around 2225 AM (2226 AM minus 1 year).
Finally, how long was Joseph a slave to Potiphar before he was wrongly accused by Potiphar’s wife and then thrown into prison? Perhaps one year?
If so, that would mean Joseph was taken into Egypt in about 2223 AM.
